HP 40g QWERTY KML Script
[Status: in private beta]
The HP 40g is a wonderful calculator, but its main emulator’s interface leaves a lot to be desired. The problem is that rather than the asterisk on your keyboard corresponding to an asterisk on the calculator, it instead treats it as two button presses on the calculator: Alpha and 8. I have written a KML script for Emu48 which attempts to implement a QWERTY interface for the 40g.
Currently supported are uppercase letters, and number keys at the top of the keyboard. The Shift key works exactly as it should in a Windows app. In the event that you need to use a calculator button which doesn’t correspond to a QWERTY key, simply hold Ctrl while pressing the Alpha or numeric key which corresponds to that button, and it will press that button without any special processing. Holding Shift while using a Ctrl combo works like the calculator button as well.
