The school year started yesterday. This means little to no more free time, and little to no more fun robotics programming work.

I really need to apologize for not getting a beta of my secret project available yet; I was hoping to have it out ages ago. Work and the science fair project ended up eating up the time I was planning to spend on it. It is virtually finished, though, so it may be posted eventually. Remember, only beta testers get the beta, so if you want it, IM or e-mail me. I’m up to 4 beta testers now.

More recently, I discovered the awesomeness that is external texture loading in emulators. Rice’s Video Plugin for the N64 emulators has had this feature since 2005 (if I remember correctly), and there are now loads of great texture packs out. My friends and I are now playing N64 games all over again, with these textures. I would highly recommend for anyone who has an N64 emulator to check out the relevant forum (1964/High-res texture projects) at Emutalk.net.

Started yet another project, which you might see in the future. If you like calculators, you might like this. No estimate on the release date (if you seriously expected one, you don’t know me well enough).

I would also like to recommend the site RealClearPolitics.com. The most useful compilation of political polls that I’ve ever seen. They predicted two days in advance that the Democrats would take back the Senate in 2006, among various other generally accurate predictions. Go check them out!

Finally, a bit of civil liberties news. Remember the developmentally disabled man (U.S. citizen) who was illegally deported to Mexico? He has been found and reunited with his family. Apparently, he had to walk about 100 miles back to the border (eating out of trash cans along the way), at which point he was turned away about 5 times. Finally, they arrested him, at which point someone noticed that he was the guy that the courts had ordered that they should be looked for. Hopefully he files a lawsuit; we need this president out of there.
